Every now and then, I come across something that's really important; and I believe that this is one of those times and those things.
This week, I met up with an old friend. He and I go back about 15 years but he told me that he recently got together with his 6 university friends. He showed me pictures of them 30 years ago and from their last meeting a few weeks ago. It was interesting to see how they changed physically but what he found interesting is how their lives had changed. As it turns out, 4 out of the 7, my friend not included, had split from their wives. That's not and odd statistic of course since its well known now the less than half of first marriages last forever.
What was an interesting statistic was that the 4 that divorced were ALSO the 4 that had become multi-millionaires. I sensed that my friend and perhaps the other 2 that had not reached such financial freedom, were likely envious of this latter statistic.
What we pondered after that was another statistic which could not be calculated so simply. Which of the 7 people were the most happy, and which have the best relationships with their direct family or families for that matter. It has been said that the key to happiness is wanting what you have and not having what you want.
With that, I wish that you will continue to strive for and find true happiness in your lives and with your families in 2014 and beyond. If you've read this far, PLEASE take the time to watch this beautiful video from the BBC.

After watching this, I wonder how it is that we can be unhappy in such a wonderful world.
Take care and be well my friends.
(Please share the link and the happiness)
