Greetings fellow Kamazooie friends!
I was having a discussion with a couple of friends about some recent news which made me want to reach out to the Kamazooie community for input. The overall question is "What would you recommend for kids these days to have a bright employment future?".
I was also reviewing some older posts and happened to come across Zack’s posting on “Questions” in which he is doing some soul searching regarding his career.
Some doom and gloom forecasters have said that the next generation of young adults will not have the same lifestyle that their parents have had and that the north American Baby Boomers may have had the luxury of having the best lifestyle, on average, of any generation in the future given the global competitiveness that we now all face.
Well being of that next-generation age myself, and being the community manager for Kamazooie, I thought I would allow some of our more experienced members to give some guidance to some of our younger ones. Here are some probing questions to stimulate your thoughts:
Anyway, thanks for your consideration and thanks in advance for your guidance to the next generation of adults.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Hi Amanda, that's a great question. I believe the future is still bright but, yes, you may have to work a little harder these days. My advice would be stay in school if you like that sort of thing. However, I believe that its always been the same for generations and generations. Find something you like and work hard at it with passion and vigour and you will be both successful and happy.
Thanks for the thoughtful question!
I fully agree Brian. It is ultra competitive out there and young adults coming out of schools with degrees struggle to find jobs in their field. As I told one person last week during a career development conversation...work comprises one-third of your life (give or take) and you would be wise to maintain a positive attitude and pursue a career that you enjoy in an environment where you can thrive.
