I wanted to take a few minutes to share a Kamazooie moment from the weekend that involved the bass player from my second band The Tundra Rick March. Rick is a seasoned musician who plays with a couple of bands in Dubai as well.

During a mid-week email conversation he shared a couple of songs that he, and a former band member Paul Stanton, wrote in 1992. They were very catchy and on Saturday we decided to give one of them a go. The song, Talk Too Much, is quite catchy and we stayed true to it during our jam.

The reason I call it a Kamazooie moment is the obvious excitement and pride that Rick expressed throughout the session. When we played the songs he was visibly enthused and even admitted to getting goosebumps after we played it for the third time. This song, some 23 years old, has been brought back to life and continues to be part of the musical legacy he is forging. Very cool. I was very fortunate to take part in that moment. Check out the link below for a rough cut of the track.

Talk Too Much - Tundra

We had a much better session this week. My voice was back to normal and I could hit some notes that I simply couldn't last week. Please excuse the quality of the recording...I basically use voice notes on my iphone and record ambient. Not the most sophisticated method but it is a good way to track progress and identify spots where we need to lift quality. Additionally we only played the song for the first time this week, so it isn't as polished as it should be.

In any case, thanks for reading/listening!

Cheers

I like the "Kamazooie moment" reference... Good way to identify moments in time that create a memorable experience and should be captured for "posterity" as my dad used to say.  Thanks for sharing. Good jam on the "Talk to much" piece.

I liked the song and its message...funny how often we are trying to get people to talk...but yes sometimes we talk too much...thanks for sharing.
