Did you write an outline before you wrote the book?

Unfortunately, I didn't.  And I say unfortunately because it would have been easier to follow an outline...although writing without one was quite creatively stimulating.  I did have the main characters pretty well thought out in my head: who they were, their struggles and how I wanted them to conquer their battles...But many story elements—things that help drive the story were actually thought of during the process—like the chapters with Seema and Robert and the journals, they were all incorporated because I felt I needed something else to dig deeper and help drive the narrative.

Interesting. When I've written longer things like essays, I've used outlines but now, I'm writing mostly blog postings and I don't use an outline but of course, they're short pieces. They usually come from ideas that I have from past experiences and I seem to think about them a bit before taking to the computer, then the just seem to flow out. Of course I go over them about 3 times and rework them as I do. However, I would have definitely thought that to write a book, an outline would be a good tool.

Thanks for sharing your approach with us.

Hey Brian..

Please don't think I didn't write an outline because I thought I could do without...it was mainly because the story kept becoming more than I first thought it would be. I hope you are well...looking forward to meeting you some day!

Hi Jack:

Thanks for your posting!  Maybe some day I'll try my hand.  BTW, I tried to get your book from Kobo but it doesn't look like its distributed there.  Are you aware if the electronic version from Amazon can be side-loaded onto a Kobo???

..Yes Amazon is not supporting  anything other than what they own....but go to this  site....https://store.kobobooks.com/en-US/ebook/because-4

Thank you so much for the support and please share and tell me how you enjoy the book.

....open arms of hope

That got it Jack.  I don't know why I couldn't find it the first time. I think I was searching my own library and not the bookstore. Started reading and enjoying it :-)
